As philosopher Simon Critchley states, “…..death comes into the world to us through the death of others and so the question of grief is key in the relation between death and love.." All semester long, I've been in a special topics class titled "Art, Death, and Dying" where works were created from inspiration of said topics. Its been interesting. I am one of three graduate students in the class, whereas the other eleven are advanced undergrad students. With this show we have been given the opportunity to show off our best works from the class. And since the class is so diverse the works range a great deal from video to fiber sculpture and minimalist paintings.
I hope you join us at the Loundon House this coming Friday. It should be fun.
